TARGETED USE OF DIGITIZED TEACHING

We are very proud of our technology partnership with OVS GmbH, a provider of online lessons. Together, we have developed a comprehensive learning platform that can be used to search for and reproduce lessons in a structured manner. With the help of automated editing processes, both the editorial team and teachers can provide new lessons with a wide range of materials on the platform in compliance with the GDPR and assign them to their students. In this way, if a lesson is canceled, a didactically valuable replacement can be offered without much effort.

ONLINE-VERTRETUNGSSTUNDEN OVS GMBH

The Online-Vertretungsstunden OVS GmbH offers online lessons (40 minutes) on every topic in the curriculum. Teachers can select a suitable lesson and send it to students if the regular lesson is canceled. The lessons can be played back individually on the students’ devices or as an online lesson via a projector for everyone. Learners receive professional lessons with high-quality experiments, animations and exercises. Teachers can use the tasks and the final test to check whether the content has been understood. The technology partnership with Titanom Technologies GmbH was initiated due to the shared motivation to enable all learners to acquire scientific and mathematical skills regardless of the presence of their teacher.

MORE LESSONS TOGETHER

Illnesses and absences of teachers and pupils are a far-reaching problem in the school system – over 1 million lessons are missed in Germany every year. Often, the missed content cannot be made up for independently, as individual learning materials cannot replace the entire concept of a lesson. In fact, teachers often have to rework the material from the previous lesson in the lesson after an absence, and pupils usually lag behind after their illness. Online substitute lessons OVS GmbH addresses this problem by recording fully-fledged, pedagogically sound lessons as videos and supplementing them with interactive exercises. These lessons are precisely tailored to the curricula of the individual federal states and can therefore serve as a full replacement for the respective lessons that have been canceled. This enables a seamless and consistent teaching experience despite the usual absence due to illness.

THIS IS THE PRODUCT

Titanom Technologies GmbH is fully responsible for the development of the Online Representation Hours platform. In addition to the general platform functionalities, investments were made primarily in the automation of the editing process and in integration with other platforms and single sign-on systems. It had to be ensured that the upload process for new material and its integration into the respective curricula could be designed as efficiently and simply as possible.

In this way, teachers can also individualize their lessons with OVS material or external materials. In addition, special consideration had to be given to the guidelines of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in these processes and in the integration into external services. In view of the “school” use case, this was one of the foundations on which the entire system architecture was built.

Holistic product development: Titanom Technologies GmbH is independently responsible for the entire technology. This includes feature development, quality management, deployment and operation of the platform.

Integration into SSO systems: As part of the expansion of the user base, OVS was integrated into various external systems and platforms. In addition to the technological architecture, GDPR-compliant implementation was the key to success.
